Parents, your role in your child's development is more important than that of any other. You are a role model for your children as they learn from your actions and behaviours. Even if you are not a sporty-type, you can still have a positive influence on your children by introducting them to various activities and promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle on their health and well-being.
At Let's Play we realise the difficulty of juggling work, family, fetching-and-carrying, education, homework and then still spending time each day on activities. We hope to make it a little easier for you by offering simple ideas. We also hope to inspire you to see the inclusion of regular activity as more than just about fitness. It's also about you spending a little more time with your children doing what they most enjoy - play.
Teachers, you are tasked with either running physical education programmes or putting your time into extracurricular activities, which are held after school. This is not always an easy task, especially when it comes to dealing with children of different ages and abilities.
We'd like to encourage you to make contact with organisations that offer school activitiy programmes within the curriculum. They will either be able to administer a program for you or will be able to provide instruction and guidance so that the energy and time you put in achieves results.
We'd like to recommend the following resources on our website:
- Our Online Resources section will direct you to websites that host activity programs specifically created for home and school.
- The Games & Skills section offers fun and easy play and activity ideas.
- Finding a place to take your children on weekends is not always easy. In our Where to Play section we offer options for you to consider.
