HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL CAST APPEALS FOR DONATIONS OF BALLS AND USED SPORTS EQUIPMENT...
Wildcats, basketball, cheerleaders, jocks and championship matches are an integral part of
High School Musical The Full Stage Production, currently on stage at The Teatro at
Montecasino until 15 March 2009. The sporting theme of this family show for all ages and
the fact that sport helps to change childrens lives, led to a CSI partnership
between High School Musical, Montecasino and SuperSports Lets Play initiative
that encourages play, activity and sports in schools and at home.
The cast of High School Musical The Full Stage Production are appealing to members
of the public and theatre patrons to join them in supporting their Bring a Ball for
Troy campaign to collect rugby, soccer, tennis, cricket or any play ball for
disadvantaged children. Instead of discarding old racquets, clubs, bats, balls and
footwear, you are welcome to drop off unused, good condition sports items at one of the
six Lets Play bins located near the JacarandaFM studio at Montecasino.
Sport is critical to the development of our youth, says SAs Troy, David
Schlachter. Fellow HSM lead and incidentally a basketball player, Christopher Jaftha, who
plays the role of Chad believes sport has helped him achieve his goals. Kids that
play sport are kept busy with healthy activities which means less time to be influenced
into taking drugs, smoking and indulging in alcohol. High School Musical cast, crew
and band members together with Montecasino staff invite you to join them. So, BRING A BALL
FOR TROY or clean out those cupboards and cupboards and donate your old sports equipment,
clothing and footwear to needy schools, clubs, sports teams and organisations unable to
purchase new equipment.
Everything collected will be distributed to needy beneficiaries, with the help of Greater
Good South Africa.
