The aim of Let’s Play is to encourage physical activity or the playing of sport in schools and at home, targeting children aged 6 to 12.

Let’s Play is making a real difference to the lives of kids. Every week through coaching clinics with partners (620 independent coaches nationwide), Let’s Play reaches approximately 583000 kids at 927 schools, which we believe to be a phenomenal achievement after only 3 years since inception.

In addition, Let’s Play a Million has raised over R3.8 million and donated 155 000 soccer balls to children. In October 2008, Let’s Play and SuperSport were publically recognised at the Mail & Guardian’s ‘Investing in the Future Awards’ where we won the ‘Investing in the Future Corporate Award’ and were also finalists in the Sports Development Award.

Through a combined effort with retail & media partners we launched a campaign entitled “Gear Up Our Kids”. This is a nationwide campaign to provide an avenue for the general public to donate their second-hand or unused sports equipment, clothing and footwear. The campaign generated more than 25 000 items of sporting equipment that has been donated to less fortunate children across the 9 provinces.

We continue to harness the support of communities, individuals, sponsors and various partners through the integrated marketing of the Let’s Play initiative, for the good of our nation and its future generations.
